Markham District High School (or MDHS) is a public high school in the city of Markham, Ontario, Canada. It is one of 32 high schools in the York Region District School Board . [ 4 ] Until the 2016–17 academic year, it was the only publicly funded school within York Region which had a non-semestered system.
Markville S.S. was officially opened in late fall of 1990. The school opened with Grades 9, 10, and some Grade 11 students, with Grades 11 and 12 age students being allowed stay at either Unionville High School or Markham District High School. In 1996, an addition to the third floor provided a new math and computer wing.

The school is located next to the Markham Civic Centre and the Markham Theatre. Unionville High School is most well known for its enriched arts program, Arts Unionville (formerly known as Arts York). The school was purpose-built to house this regional arts program, therefore it has enhanced arts facilities.
Middlefield Collegiate is ranked 102 of 689 Ontario high schools on the 2022 Fraser Institute school report, with an overall rating of 7.7 out of 10. The percentage of eligible students who passed their Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test on the first attempt was 87.4%.

The school board bought the site of the former Bobby Murray Chevrolet car dealership on Capital Boulevard in Raleigh in 2016 with plans to build a small high school there.
Bill Hogarth Secondary School is a public high school in Markham, Ontario, Canada operated by the York Region District School Board. It opened in November 2017 for students in grades 9 and 10, some of whom were transferred from Pierre Elliott Trudeau High School.
