Eukanuba (/ ˌ juː k ə ˈ n uː b ə / EW-kə-NOO-bə) [1] [unreliable source?] is a brand of dog food and cat food owned and manufactured by Mars, Incorporated worldwide and by Spectrum Brands in European markets; previously handled by Procter & Gamble from 1999 through 2014. The company produces 17 different formulas for dogs and 13 for cats.
The AKC National Championship is held by the American Kennel Club every year in December or January in the US since 2001. [1] Over 5,000 dogs from all over the world come to compete, but only seven go to best in show.

In 1988, Kal Kan Foods changed the name of its dog food to Pedigree, the name Mars used to sell dog food outside the United States. The next year, Mars applied their worldwide branding of Whiskas to their cat food branding. [4] In 1998, Kal Kan was the top-selling dog food brand but was going downhill.

[14] Because of the win at the World Dog Show, Charmin qualified to compete in the 2008 Eukanuba World Challenge, where he finished as the runner-up. [15]
