Andal (ISO 15919: Āṇḍāḷ), also known as Kodhai, Nachiyar, and Godha Devi, is the only female Alvar among the twelve Hindu Vaishnava poet-saints of South India. She is considered an avatar of goddess Bhudevi, a consort of Lord Vishnu. [1] As with the Alvar saints, she was affiliated with the Sri Vaishnava tradition of Hinduism.
