The Sholay Girl is a 2019 Hindi-language biographical period drama film directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and produced by Shrabani Deodhar, Sai Deodhar and Shakti Anand. [1] Written by Faizal Akhtar and Shrabani Deodhar, the film is based on India's first stuntwoman, Reshma Pathan .
Sholay went on to become a blockbuster, and is the highest-grossing movie in India. Although the film boasted an ensemble cast of superstars including Dharmendra and Amitabh Bachchan, he stole the thunder with his unorthodox and eerie dialogue delivery that was perfectly opposite to the total lack of empathy his character was supposed to convey.
Sholay led the ceremony with 10 nominations, followed by Amanush and Deewaar with 9 nominations each, along with Aandhi and Sanyasi with 7 nominations each. Deewaar won 7 awards, including Best Film, Best Director (for Yash Chopra) and Best Supporting Actor (for Shashi Kapoor). thus becoming the most-awarded film at the ceremony.
