Mount Sunapee State Park is a public recreation area in Newbury, New Hampshire. The state park 's nearly 3,000 acres (1,200 ha) include most of Mount Sunapee and a beach area on Lake Sunapee . Park activities include swimming, hiking, camping, skiing, fishing, picnicking, and non-motorized boating.
New Hampshire is divided into five large river basins. The Lake Sunapee watershed is part of the Connecticut River Basin. The watershed is surrounded by high hills and 55 square miles (142 km 2) of town lands including parts of Sunapee, Newbury, Sutton, New London, Springfield and Goshen. There are 35 streams or tributaries that empty into Sunapee.

The region shares its name with Dartmouth College, a prestigious Ivy League institution, and Lake Sunapee, a popular tourist destination. Interstate 89 forms the main freeway connecting the region to other parts of New Hampshire, as well as to nearby Vermont. Lebanon, Hanover, and Claremont are the three most populous communities in the region.
Blodgett Landing is located in the northern part of Newbury, between New Hampshire Route 103A and the shore of Lake Sunapee. [4] It is bordered to the north by the town of New London. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the Blodgett Landing CDP has a total area of 0.29 square miles (0.75 km 2), all land. [5]
