Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish Historic District, also known as Cedron Church and Assumption Catholic Church, is a historic Roman Catholic church complex and national historic district located at the Cedron settlement near Jamestown, Moniteau County, Missouri. The church was built between 1867 and 1872 and is a brick gable-end church.
In 1903, Frederick George Holweck, German-American scholar and church historian, returned as pastor to St. Francis De Sales, where he had earlier served as curate. The original church and a new church building by Engelbert Seibertz, still under construction, were both destroyed by the great St. Louis Tornado of 1896. [4]

St. Mary of the Assumption Parish in Bridgeton, Missouri was a Catholic parish in northwestern St. Louis County, located within the Archdiocese of St. Louis.Founded in 1851, the parish population expanded with suburban development at such exhilarating a rate in the 1950s and 1960s that seven new parishes were created in the area.
The former St. Henry's Church at Rutger and California Streets was destroyed as a result of two fires in the mid 1990s and had to be torn down. [5] The Catholic population in the area declined over the years and the parish was closed in 2005. The church and rectory were purchased for use by the Compton Heights Concert Band. [2]
