The restaurant received two stars in the Michelin Guide's inaugural 2009 Hong Kong and Macau edition. [4] It was also placed 37th in S. Pellegrino's 2011 World's 50 Best Restaurants list in 2011. [5] It stays 37th in The World’s Best Restaurants Awards in 2013. [6] Amber is ranked 21st in Asia's Best Restaurants in 2019. [7]
The restaurant was owned by Gordon Ramsay's Hong Kong partner, Dining Concepts. It first opened in the Lan Kwai Fong Hotel in Lan Kwai Fong in 2014 with Gilles Bosquet as the head chef, but the hotel closed in 2017 and was redeveloped into offices, so the restaurant relocated to The Peak Galleria. Amigo (Chinese: 雅谷餐廳) is a French and Western cuisine restaurant in Hong Kong. It was created by owner Yeung Wing Chung (楊永忠) and his staff. Yeung's wife came up with the Spanish name Amigo, meaning "friend". It is located on Wong Nai Chung Road, Happy Valley.
