The Ghana Institution of Surveyors (GhIS) was established on 28 February 1969. It is the leading source of professional advice on Landed Property and Construction in Ghana. [ 1 ] It was established out of the Ghana Branch of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors following a resolution during the annual general meeting in 1969.
George Ekem Ferguson (14 July 1864 – 7 April 1897), [1] also known as Ekow Atta, was a Fante civil servant, surveyor and cartographer who worked in the British colony of the Gold Coast [2] (modern Ghana).
He hails from Tsito-Awudome, a town in the Volta Region of Ghana. He received his diploma as a Chartered Surveyor from the Ghana Institute of Surveyors. He also received his Construction Technicians Certificate I (CTC I) from the Takoradi Polytechnic and a Bachelor of Science degree in Administration from the University of Ghana.

Nii Amon Kotei (24 May 1915 – 17 October 2011) was a Ghanaian sculptor, painter, musician, surveyor, and graphic artist. He is mostly remembered and celebrated as the designer of the coat of arms of Ghana. [1] He was one of Ghana's leading artists. [2] [3]
