IEC can review outside projects. IRB cannot do so, by definition they are institute specific. In ICH GCP I6 R1 document, they use the term IRB/IEC. In India, we use the term IEC. I have not read any term as IRB in India. Somehow IEC is more famous in India it seems. So when IEC is redirected here, there can be confusion as if both are same. Thanks.
