ISGH headquarters (Eastside Main Center) The Islamic Society of Greater Houston (ISGH) is a system of mosques in Greater Houston. It is headquartered at the Eastside Main Center in Upper Kirby in Houston. [3] [4] As of 1990 the ISGH served as the main Sunni mosque system in Houston, [5] As of 2000, most Sunni mosques are a part of the ISGH. [6]
Each of the six campuses is located at a particular ISGH mosque: Darul Arqam School North (unincorporated Harris County) [11] - Located at Masjid Bilal (Adel Road Islamic Center), [12] it opened in 1992 and serves grades PreK-12. [8] In 2004 it had 175 students, with 19 in senior high school. [10] As of 2019 it has more than 300 students. [13]
In 2001 a woman being questioned by an off-duty sheriff's deputy about a theft at a grocery store in northwest Houston fell ill and died. In 2014, staff completed a Dam Safety Modification Study to evaluate long-term repairs and address issues associated with the dams. Staff presented this information during a public meeting on October 29 at Bear Creek Community Center in Houston to discuss these plans and gather feedback.
The heart of Bear Creek is located at the intersection of NC highway 902 and old US highway 421. Chatham Central High School is one of the primary landmarks. Also, in and around Bear Creek are a post office, hair salon, florist, gas station, and several churches. The area is mainly a residential and farming community.
