The Grizzly House is Missouri State-West Plains' University's first residential facility, located in the heart of campus on Trish Knight Street. On January 1, 2017, the Shoe Factory Lofts, 665 Missouri Ave., in West Plains, became Grizzly Lofts, and Missouri State-West Plains manage the facility, which can accommodate 274 students. [6]

The state also funds a $2000, renewable merit-based scholarship known as Bright Flight, which is given to Missouri students attending an in-state university who earned a composite score on the ACT or SAT in the top 3 percent in Missouri, or a score among the top 5% of test takers nationally. [15]
In the 1990s, boys soccer was coached by former Missouri State Bears player Jan Stahle, himself a Greenwood alum. From 1992 to 1999 Greenwood boys soccer fielded a team in the District Championship Game with 7 consecutive District Championships from 1992 to 1998. [5] In 1992 and 1998 the team made it to the state quarterfinals. [5]
The Bears finished the 2018 season with a record of 12–3, including a perfect 6–0 conference record and victories over Creighton, Baylor, and in-state rival University of Missouri. Since 2003, Missouri State has fielded 11 All-Americans, over 80 All-Conference players, 3 GRLC Tournament MVP's, and 4 GRLC Division II Coach's of the Year.
