Moss Point is a city in Jackson County, Mississippi, United States.The population was 12,147 in 2020, a decline from the figure of 13,704 in 2010. The Moss Point Historic District and several individual buildings are listed on the National Register of Historic Places' Jackson County listings.

Griffin House in Moss Point, Mississippi, United States, is a Greek Revival building built in the mid-1800s. It is located on a 50-acre (20 ha) property overlooking the joining of the Pascagoula River and the Escatawpa River, about 5 miles (8.0 km) in from the outlet of the Pascagoula to the Gulf of Mexico.

In 1990, the original center of Escatawpa was annexed into the city of Moss Point, located just to the south. The adjoining unincorporated area north of Moss Point is the current Escatawpa census-designated place. The city was devastated by Hurricane Katrina on August 29, 2005. Escatawpa is the home of the rock band 3 Doors Down. [5]
Moss is located on the former Gulf, Mobile and Ohio Railroad. The community is named for Captain B. F. Moss. The railroad stop was known as Mossville, but the post office was known as Moss. Moss was formerly home to two general stores. [2] A post office first began operation under the name Moss in 1904. [3]
