Atascosa County (/ ˌ æ t ə s ˈ k oʊ s ə / AT-əs-KOH-sə) is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas. It is in South Texas and its county seat is Jourdanton. [2] As of the 2020 United States Census, its population was 48,981. [3] [4] Atascosa County is part of the San Antonio-New Braunfels metropolitan statistical area.
The county built a larger frame courthouse in 1868. The fourth courthouse, built in 1885 was made from red stone and served as the Pleasanton City Hall when the county seat was moved to Jourdanton. The current Atascosa County Courthouse is the fifth structure to serve as the seat of Atascosa County government.
Leming is a census-designated place (CDP) in Atascosa County, Texas, United States. As of the 2010 census, it had a population of 946. [2] This was a new CDP for the 2010 census.
