On 26 July 1993, Rix was appointed a High Court judge, [1] receiving the customary knighthood, and assigned to the Queen's Bench Division. From 1998 to 1999, he served as judge in charge of Commercial List. He was made a Lord Justice of Appeal on 2 May 2000 [2] and retired on 10 May 2013. [3]
