Ajker Kagoj (Bengali: আজকের কাগজ, lit. 'Today's Paper') was a daily Bengali-language newspaper published from Dhaka, Bangladesh. The newspaper was launched in 1991 under the editorship of Naimul Islam Khan. Since 1992, Kazi Shahid Ahmed was the editor and publisher till the newspaper announced its closure in 2007.

In 1992, he also founded another Bengali-language daily Bhorer Kagoj, [4] which was later edited by Matiur Rahman. Both Ajker Kahoj and Bhorer Kagoj were non-traditional in style and tone. He quit the Bhorer Kagoj in 1992 to run the non-governmental organisation Bangladesh Centre for Development, Journalism and Communication. [5]

It started as Kagoj Tarun Sahitya Puraskar. In 2003, the award was renamed to Best Book Award. It was renamed in 2007 Gemcon Sahitya Puroshkar. [8] [9] Gemcon Group owned Ajker Kagoj.
