MTV started in the Philippines in May 1992 as MTV Asia.It started as one of the channels of the STAR group—a partnership of Viacom, MTV's parent company, and STAR TV.It began airing on UHF Channel 23 licensed to Ermita Electronics Corporation, the country's first UHF TV station fully devoted to re-broadcasting from a foreign satellite channel. The first incarnation of MTV Asia was originally launched on 15 September 1991. It was owned by a joint-venture between the STAR TV Network and Viacom.Three years later, MTV Asia left the STAR TV Network on 2 May 1994, with the channel's space being taken by Channel V on 27 May 1994.
After winning the MTV VJ Hunt in June 2007, [1] she was a VJ for MTV Philippines, as well as being the host for Cinema One's VIP Pass. She also hosted QTV 11's Fit & Fab in season two partnered with fellow MTV VJ Maggie Wilson. [citation needed]
