When Morris County was created in 1739, Sussex County was then part of Morris County. Byram Township is a township in Sussex County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey.As of the 2020 United States census, the township's population was 8,028, [12] [13] a decrease of 322 (−3.9%) from the 2010 census count of 8,350, [20] [21] which in turn reflected an increase of 96 (+1.2%) from the 8,254 counted in the 2000 census.
