The film had six songs, many of which went on to become very popular. Other than "Yaad kiya dil ne" which was penned by Hasrat Jaipuri, the remaining songs were written by Shailendra. Kalyanji–Anandji were an Indian composer duo: Kalyanji Virji Shah (30 June 1928 – 24 August 2000) and his brother Anandji Virji Shah (born 2 March 1933). The duo are known for their work on Hindi film soundtracks, with many evergreen songs being composed by them.
The tracks "Matargashti" and "Tum Saath Ho" were the chart toppers on the Indian Music Charts. The soundtrack was adjudged as one of the best albums of 2015, wherein A. R. Rahman and Alka Yagnik were nominated under Filmfare Award for Best Music Director and Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback Singer , respectively.
The other song is a qawwali, "Yeh Mana Meri Jaan" whose tune has been remade numerous times. Madan Mohan produced one of the best works of his life for this feature film. "Tum Jo Mil Gaye Ho" was adjudged the third best hindi film song ever by a jury of eminent musicians for an Outlook magazine poll.
