After the concert in Bristol, Virginia, Osbourne announced he would return for another year of Ozzfest in 2007. Tickets for the 2007 tour were offered to fans free of charge, which led to some controversy. In 2008, Ozzfest was reduced to a one-day event in Dallas, where Osbourne played, along with Metallica and King Diamond.
The tour was formulated in January 2008 by Nikki Sixx.Shortly afterwards, the idea was established to involve both bands of whom Sixx was then a member: Mötley Crüe and Sixx:A.M. Crüe Fest was born: a new touring festival of 'bands that embody the spirit of rock and roll' [2] in the same vein as Ozzfest.
