Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa (born 10 August 2005) is an Indian chess grandmaster currently ranked 14th in the world (7th in live ratings). His greatest career achievements so far are reaching the final of the Chess World Cup 2023 (which qualified him for the Candidates Tournament 2024 where he finished 5th/8) and winning the Tata Steel Chess Tournament 2025.

In November 2021, he became India's 71st Grandmaster after finishing second in the GM Ask 3 round-robin event in Arandjelovac, Serbia. [2] He managed to earn all three GM norms and surpass the 2500 rating mark in three consecutive tournaments within 24 days, being the fastest Indian player to do so.
