John L. Balderston. John L. Balderston (October 22, 1889 – March 8, 1954) was an American playwright and screenwriter best remembered for his horror and fantasy scripts. He wrote the 1926 play Berkeley Square and the 1927 American adaptation of the 1924 play Dracula.
