The Big Chill is a 1983 American comedy-drama film directed by Lawrence Kasdan, starring an ensemble cast consisting of Tom Berenger, Glenn Close, Jeff Goldblum, William Hurt, Kevin Kline, Mary Kay Place, Meg Tilly, and JoBeth Williams.
In 1983, the song appeared on The Big Chill soundtrack Disc 1, Track 8. "I Second That Emotion" is the title of a 1999 Futurama episode. In the 2005 film Madagascar, in the scene where the penguins arrive on the boat, the captain is listening to this song before one of the penguins hits him on the back of the head.
