The composer and revolutionist Julio Nakpil composed " Marangal na Dalit ng Katagalugan " (Honorable Hymn of the Tagalog Nation/People) upon the request of Andrés Bonifacio , the leader of the Katipunan , the secret society that had spearheaded the Revolution.
