Hey fellow transit friends, I have myself a wonderful 2021 AWD Transit (148wb, high roof) conversion (100% self-designed and built). As you can see from the CAT scale report, I'm really pushing the max gross weight of this van and let me tell you, we can feel it. Lots of sway, takes forever for bumps to settle down, lots of sway in high winds ...
Third reason, the well-known water issue. A genuine problem, one that Ford has created fixes for, as well as an easy one to address on your own as has been shown by many. I could agree with this being legit, but hardly reason enough to settle for any of the other choices that have their own problems. Fourth issue, oil.

I've done something similar with a 10x8 tarp to make a shower enclosure off the back doors. 2015 T250 MR cargo w/windows, 3.7, 3.73 Limited Slip.
3231 posts · Joined 2015. #45 · Oct 8, 2020. On the Transit the sizes are different, with the size used on the dually being cheaper and more common than what the SRW gets. The difference at todays prices between 4 OEM on a SRW and 6 OEM on a DRW is $120. There are pros and cons to dually.
I think I would rather strap 2 jerry cans or a couple rotopax tanks on the back for a fraction of the cost and no mods to the van. No that I think about it I will keep that in mind if I ever need the extra fuel. A pair of 3 gallon rotopax cost $200. That will get me another 90 miles or a few days of heat and hot water.
