    Sushi has vinegar. Kimbap has sesame oil and salt. So if it's related to any sort of Japanese dish, it would probably be onigiri, which has the same ingredients, not sushi. In Korea Japanese-style onigiri is called kimbap regardless of its shape. Sushi is called "sushi" and clearly distinguished from kimbap.
