Monkey D. Luffy (/ ˈ l uː f i / LOO-fee) (Japanese: モンキー・D・ルフィ, Hepburn: Monkī Dī Rufi, [ɾɯꜜɸiː]), also known as "Straw Hat" Luffy, [n 2] is a fictional character and the protagonist in the Japanese manga series One Piece created by Eiichiro Oda.
Rayleigh teaches Luffy two Haki techniques, using the first technique, Observation Haki (a power feeling a person's presence) to avoid the elephant's attack. Rayleigh then knocks out the elephant with Armament Haki (another technique used as an invisible shield and can render a Logia-type Devil Fruit user unconscious).
Luffy is also capable of using the advanced application for all types of Haki. During his fight with Kaido, his devil fruit power awakened, revealing its true nature as the Mythical Zoan-type, Human-Human Fruit, Model: Nika. Luffy is voiced by Mayumi Tanaka in the anime series. [1]

Luffy attempt to fight back using Armament Haki, but his punches go right though him, much to Luffy's confusion, as Trebol question Luffy's assumption of his Devil Fruit being a Logia. Law tells Luffy that fighting Trebol is futile, while revealing Trebol's slime is in fact mucus, before he begins to insult Trebol and the other executives.
Luffy is brought to the palace, where Hancock is shocked to learn of Luffy's attack on the World Noble. Luffy learns that the three sisters were once slaves of the World Nobles, but were freed when Fisher Tiger attacked Mariejois, and that he eventually founded the Sunny Pirates from former slaves. Hancock then grants Luffy use of her ship.
Upon reaching Luffy, Katakuri transforms back into his human body as he enlarges one of his forarms while covering it flaming Armament Haki-imbued spikes, and he slams it into Luffy in a move called Buzz Cut Mochi. Meanwhile, Luffy faces Monet off and almost dies in the battle, due to having his body frozen, but recovers and counters with Haki. The counterattack, however, made a hole in the floor, leading to the garbage room, where Luffy fell to, and Monet gives farewell to him, as "he can only escape flying".
