In my opinion, PG is the gold standard particularly for the best players. Their rating system is regarded as a highly valued third party assessment that college coaching staffs believe in.
A Perfect Game event can be one of the best investments you can ever make in this journey. Considering tournaments, state showcases, regional Top Prospects showcases, and its National-level opportunites, my three sons attended over forty PG events over the course of a decade.

I agree with all stated above, Perfect Game is a very valuable resource for the HS player. That stated, an opinion is just that, an opinion. Projectability is not a science and one has only to look at the MLB drafting percentages to see that. You should not let one opinion upset you.

In regard to higher competition, you may be interested in Perfect Game tournaments starting around 14U. Looks like you're located in a great region for baseball. Simple, you can not trust Perfect game rankings. I know a 2017 who played on a national ranked summer/fall team who never attended a perfect game showcase. However, he did attend perfect tournaments. He is a verbal to a major or perhaps best ACC team since his freshman year of HS.
