Here are some of the services Kentucky’s higher education institutions are offering to support students’ mental health needs.
Each student that is selected is eligible to receive scholarships to any Kentucky public university, as well as a handful of private institutions. For the duration of the program, located at three local college campuses chosen through a bidding process, scholars have the rare opportunity to experience college life while attending classes daily.
In 2023, more than 500 students attended. [2] By 2024, the program counted more than 8000 alumni. [3] Since 2019, GSA has been located at the University of Kentucky [2] in Lexington, KY. The program is free for students to attend. Nearly 30 universities across the commonwealth and outside Kentucky offer scholarships to GSA alumni. [1]
