According to an initial report obtained by USA TODAY, Cincinnati Fire was informed about "a vehicle fire" near the Interstate 471 bridge that crosses the Ohio River just before 3:30 a.m.
Five days after a massive fire damaged the Daniel Carter Beard Bridge, repairs haven't started and traffic detours are still in place.
The fire broke out overnight near a playground under the bridge, shutting down Interstate 471, according to the Cincinnati Fire Department. Video showed flames soaring more than 40 feet into the air and igniting a short section of the bridge, known for its yellow arches, near downtown Cincinnati.
