Canada has professional sports teams in eight sports across twenty-one leagues. Canada also has minor league teams competing in American and Canadian-based basketball, hockey, soccer, and baseball leagues.
The Raptors is the National Basketball Association's only team based in Canada. Presently, only one team in the NBA is based in Canada, the Toronto Raptors. The Raptors also operate a minor league professional team, the Raptors 905 of the NBA G League. Both Raptors franchises are based in the Greater Toronto Area.
