AFI's 100 Years... 100 Heroes & Villains is a list of the one hundred greatest screen characters (fifty each in the hero and villain categories) as chosen by the American Film Institute in June 2003. It is part of the AFI 100 Years... series. The list was first presented in a CBS special hosted by Arnold Schwarzenegger.

In the parody, the villain can be a bumbling, over-important, arrogant fool himself. Much is made of the use of innovative gadgetry, which the protagonist uses to his advantage. The main villain is sometimes completely unseen behind a chair with a menacing voice, smoking, drinking or stroking a cat. Humour is an important component of this genre.
The Urge (voiced by Roger Craig Smith) is the lead singer of a band and the main villain in "Trash Boat". He became famous by changing his name to "The Urge", inspiring Rigby to legally change his name to "Trash Boat". The Urge later travels back in time to kill Rigby for making him lose his fame after he changed his name.
