  2. Angular diameter distance - Wikipedia

    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angular_diameter_distance

The angular size redshift relation for a Lambda cosmology, with on the vertical scale megaparsecs. The angular size redshift relation describes the relation between the angular size observed on the sky of an object of given physical size, and the object's redshift from Earth (which is related to its distance, d {\displaystyle d} , from Earth).

  3. Tired light - Wikipedia

    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tired_light

Tired light was an idea that came about due to the observation made by Edwin Hubble that distant galaxies have redshifts proportional to their distance.Redshift is a shift in the spectrum of the emitted electromagnetic radiation from an object toward lower energies and frequencies, associated with the phenomenon of the Doppler effect.

  4. lambda-connectedness - Wikipedia

    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lambda-connectedness

The lambda-connected segmentation is a region-growing segmentation method in general. It can also be made for split-and-merge segmentation. [ 4 ] Its time complexity also reaches the optimum at O ( n l o g n ) {\displaystyle O(nlogn)} where n {\displaystyle n} is the number of pixels in the image.

  5. Redshift survey - Wikipedia

    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Redshift_survey

In astronomy, a redshift survey is a survey of a section of the sky to measure the redshift of astronomical objects: usually galaxies, but sometimes other objects such as galaxy clusters or quasars. Using Hubble's law, the redshift can be used to estimate the distance of an object from Earth. By combining redshift with angular position data, a ...

  6. Observational cosmology - Wikipedia

    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Observational_cosmology

The first redshift survey was the CfA Redshift Survey, started in 1977 with the initial data collection completed in 1982. [20] More recently, the 2dF Galaxy Redshift Survey determined the large-scale structure of one section of the Universe, measuring z -values for over 220,000 galaxies; data collection was completed in 2002, and the final ...

  8. Talk:Angular size redshift relation - Wikipedia

    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Angular_size_redshift...

The equation is described as a relation between angular size and redshift (hence the name), but redshift z does not occur in the equation. The graph looks nice, but unless the units are explained, the graph is unrelated to the algebra. Are the units of angular size "arc-seconds" or "kiloparsecs per arc-second" or what?

  9. Angular (web framework) - Wikipedia

    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angular_(web_framework)

Angular (also referred to as Angular 2+) [4] is a TypeScript-based free and open-source single-page web application framework. It is developed by Google and by a community of individuals and corporations. Angular is a complete rewrite from the same team that built AngularJS.
