Domestic metal saw its commercial peak in Japan in the late 1980s and early 1990s, with the top acts selling millions of records. Many metal bands from the visual kei scene toured and gained recognition in the West in the 2000s. The 2010s saw a boom of all-female metal bands form and gain mainstream attention.
Exist Trace (イグジストトレイス, Iguzisuto Toreisu, stylized as exist†trace) is a Japanese visual kei rock band, consisting entirely of female members. The members originate from Tokyo, and initially formed in June 2003. The founding members are Jyou, Naoto, and Mally, who met Miko and Omi after placing an advertisement for guitarists.

An all-female band is a band which has consisted entirely of female musicians for at least three-quarters of its active career. This article only lists all-female bands who perform original material that is either authored by themselves or authored by another musician for that band's use. Therefore vocal groups (girl groups) are not included.
Prior to the album's release, the band contributed to the "Women's Power First" compilation, released in 1998 by the label Flying Cat. [3] By this time, the band was a well-known presence in the Tokyo club scene, and at one point opened for Keiko Terada. [4] Aphasia eventually release their second full-length album "Wings of Fire" in 2001.
In 2009, Kobametal, the band's producer and heavy metal enthusiast, started planning the launch of an idol/heavy metal fusion group. Impressed by Suzuka Nakamoto's performance with her previous group Karen Girl's, he believed she would be suitable as the lead vocalist for the new group. [1]
