Gohan, Trunks and Krillin explore New Vegeta and discover that it is uninhabited except for alien slaves who reveal that a Super Saiyan destroyed their civilization. The masters begin to abuse them, but are fended by Gohan and Krillin. Goku arrives and is greeted by Paragus, who invites them to dinner at the palace.

Gohan assumes his Super Saiyan 2 form in an effort to defeat Broly who transforms into his Legendary Super Saiyan form. Gohan successfully lures Broly into a pit of lava which consumes him and Gohan passes out from exhaustion before being rescued by Krillin. Moments later, Broly re-emerges and attacks Gohan after incapacitating Krillin.

However, Vegeta comes up with the idea of using the Dragon Balls to first bring Goku and Krillin's souls to the Earth's check-in station in the Other World, from where they can be resurrected on Earth. 130 days after their use on Namek, the Namekian Dragon Balls become re-active, and the first two wishes are used to successfully revive Krillin ...
After Vegeta says that he, too, will enter, Goku suddenly speaks up and says that he will be allowed to come back for one day to compete. Excited, Gohan flies off to tell Krillin the good news. Along the way he is mistaken as an actor on a movie set making a film about Saiyaman. Krillin and his wife, Android 18, each decide to enter as well.
