The LSU Cox Communications Academic Center for Student-Athletes, on the campus of Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, is located in the Gym/Armory building. As early as 1899, LSU organized a four-year course in commerce, leading to a bachelor's degree. On June 11, 1928, the University Board of Supervisors established the College of Commerce at its annual meeting. The college would be housed in Himes Hall with J. B. Trant presiding as dean.
