Ansel Krut (born 1959 in Cape Town, South Africa) is a painter who lives and works in London, United Kingdom.. Ansel Krut graduated with an MA in Painting from the Royal College of Art in 1986, after which he was awarded the Abbey Major scholarship to the British School in Rome.
He died in London. Some of his work remains on display at the National Portrait Gallery [4] as well as at the Cleveland Museum of Art. [5] His pupils included the engravers John Hall and William Wynne Ryland. His son, Simon Ravenet, was also an engraver, active in the Parma Academy of Fine Arts.
Johan Frederik Thaulow was born in Christiania, the son of a wealthy chemist, Harald Conrad Thaulow (1815–1881), and Nicoline ("Nina") Louise Munch (1821–1894). Thaulow was educated at the Academy of Art in Copenhagen in 1870–1872, and from 1873 until 1875 he studied with Hans Gude at the Baden School of Art in Karlsruhe.
