Gerard Soete (29 January 1920 – 9 June 2000) was a Belgian officer in the colonial police of Congo, colonial, author, and teacher. One year before his death, in 1999, it became known that he was involved in the wake of the assassination of Patrice Lumumba by the destruction of his body.
