Vietnam Television (Vietnamese: Đài Truyền hình Việt Nam), operating under its official abbreviation VTV, is the national television broadcaster of Vietnam. As the state broadcaster under the direction of under the Government of Vietnam, VTV is tasked with "propagating the views of the Party, policies, laws of the government".
VTV1 is a state-owned Vietnamese-language news channel and also the first television channel of Vietnam Television Station, and the third channel of VTV to broadcast in HD, broadcast in 24 hours daily.
New time slot was established this year as a collaboration of VTV and Vietnam Cinema Department, with the aim of creating a playground for feature filmmakers. It aired each two weeks during August and September (as a demo) and weekly since October.
Bon Voyage is a Swiss-German short film written and directed by Marc Raymond Wilkins. Bon Voyage was shortlisted with ten other short-film from 137 entries submitted to the 89th Academy Awards in Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film category. Following the previous year, the Friday night (around 21:00) on VTV1 was spent to air Vietnamese films more often than the other time slots but it was unstable. It sometimes was used as an extension for foreign drama time slots.
Note: . Unlisted airtime periods were spent for special events. Starting from February, the Sunday night time slot, which was for foreign dramas, turned into a new time slot called Weekend Film (Vietnamese: Phim cuối tuần).
