The B36 was discontinued in 1973, although it was no longer used in trucks after 1966. Volvo B13R is a 12.8-litre engined coach chassis available as both two- and tri-axle from Volvo since 2009. It was the first of the Volvo BXXR series, replacing the higher output configurations of the B12B. [1] It was later joined by the B11R, which has the same base chassis but a smaller engine.
Its design, based on European-market 9700 NG, remains largely unchanged. It is built on B13R chassis, and uses Volvo D13 engine, providing 435 hp. It is a customized version of D13C engine, which is fully compliant with EPA regulations (originally 2007 regulations, [7] later updated to 2013 [8] and 2015 regulations [9]).
