ZCSD (ZCSD), or Zachary Community School Board is a school district in Zachary, Louisiana, United States. In addition to Zachary it serves some unincorporated areas around it. [4] The Zachary Community School System was founded in 2002 and was formed from schools that had been located in the East Baton Rouge Parish School District. [5]
Zachary is located in northern East Baton Rouge Parish. It is bordered to the north by the city of Slaughter, to the east by Central, and to the south by Baker. Louisiana Highway 19 passes through the city, leading north 5 miles (8 km) to the center of Slaughter and south 9 miles (14 km) to U.S. Route 61 in the northern part of Baton Rouge.
Zachary High School is one of three high schools in Louisiana to have the Oracle Computer Database Building program, which costs over $3000. Neighboring and rival school, West Feliciana High School , located in St. Francisville, LA, also has the Oracle Computer Database Building Program.
In the center of town, the route turned east onto Church Street back across the railroad line, then north onto East Central Avenue to rejoin the current alignment. [7] Once bypassed, the original route was designated as State Route C-2174. [7] The portion of this route within the Zachary city limits was retained in the 1955 renumbering as LA 1203.
