The {{#invoke: params}} module is designed to be adopted by those templates that want to have a deep control of their parameters. It is particularly useful to variadic templates, to which it offers the possibility to count, list, map and propagate the parameters received without knowing their number in advance.
They may be included in any order (see Examples below). Certain templates have the parameter "on" by default; see the main table for all alternate options. If a row renders identically to a previous row, it means the current template does not support that option and {} needs to be used instead.
It shows a template name with a link to that template. It shows up to eight parameters. It also shows empty parameters. (See examples below.) It prevents line wraps in its output. It uses normal text style. ({}, for instance, uses <code>...</code> text style.) This template belongs to a whole family of similar templates.
This template uses Module:Check for unknown parameters. All allowed parameters must be listed at {{#invoke:Check for unknown parameters|...}} in the template's own code. A call with an unlisted parameter may cause a warning in previews and may add a tracking category.
When {{Parameter names example}} is used on an immediate subpage of its target template – e.g. on the target template's /doc page – its own |_template= parameter identifying the target template may be omitted.
