Philadelphia International Airport is an important component of the economies of Philadelphia, the Delaware Valley metropolitan region to which it belongs, and Pennsylvania. The Commonwealth's Aviation Bureau reported in its Pennsylvania Air Service Monitor that the total economic impact made by the state's airports in 2004 was $22 billion.
Pittsburgh-Butler Regional Airport covers an area of 304 acres (123 ha). It contains one asphalt paved runway designated 8/26, which measures 4,801 by 100 feet (1,463 by 30 m). For the 12-month period ending June 15, 2020, the airport had 74,386 aircraft operations, an average of 204 per day: 98% general aviation , 2% air taxi and <1% military.
The airport covers 352 acres (142 ha); its one runway, 11/29, is 5,400 x 100 ft (1,646 x 30 m) asphalt.In the year ending December 12, 2022, the airport had 42,274 aircraft operations, average 116 per day: 94% general aviation, 6% air taxi and <1% military. 77 aircraft at the time were based at the airport: 58 single-engine, 11 multi-engine, 7 jet, and 1 helicopter.
The airport covers 275 acres (111 ha) at an elevation of 1,915 feet (584 m). It has two asphalt runways: 5/23 is 4,000 by 100 feet (1,219 x 30 m) and 13/31 is 5,001 by 75 feet (1,524 x 23 m).
