Dune (titled on-screen as Dune: Part One) is a 2021 American epic space opera film directed and co-produced by Denis Villeneuve, who co-wrote the screenplay with Jon Spaihts, and Eric Roth. It is the first of a two-part adaptation of the 1965 novel by Frank Herbert .
Possibly influenced by Blanch's book, Frank Herbert named a fictional language known and used by Fremen among others in his 1965 novel Dune Chakobsa. [6] However, the samples of this invented language which Herbert uses in the Dune series of novels are actually a mixture of Romani, Serbo-Croatian, and Arabic.
