My spom delivers to the whole base, sometimes half a map appart. If I only had a single O2 vent (or multiple close together), it would quickly overpressure and block the system. Having an O2 pump to help keep a low pressure around the electolyzer seems better to me (could be a mix between open spom and sending part of the O2 elsewhere)
A lot simpler than others. 3 electrolyzers (massive overkill at the moment - currently supplies 2 asteroids and it's still increasing in o2), build over a salt slush and slush geyser, which pumps the freezing water through last the electrolyzers in radiant pipes before going to processing, which then supplies the electrolyzers.
Build a 7x4 (7x5 if you wish to access or maintain it) tile rectangle. Slap a few airflow tiles 3 tiles above the base and put in a electrolyser. Put 2 pumps above and 1 pump below. Automate them with atmo sensors to only pump when pressure is over 1kg/tile. Top will pump hydrogen, bottom will pump oxygen.
situational decision in this case. im capped at 18 dupes, so i only need a half rod to support them (actually, only 17 dupes). but the pressure dropped enough when excavating that the chlorine and co2 began rising. only thing this SPOM really does is maintain external gas press to maintain gas separation.
Spom (Self powered oxygen machine) is a build to harness electrolyzer, making infinite oxygen and power to run buildings. Because water is abunden and have many sources, this is the ultimate replace for algae, a finite resource. 3. 0xEmmy. • 2 yr. ago. An electrolyzer hooked up to a hydrogen generator. Water goes in, power and oxygen come out. 2.
Here is how it works: Power overlay: Power Grid of the efficient SPOM. In the picture above you can see that the generator is connected into 2 power lines, each power line has a smart battery attached to it. 2 power lines: Feeds the SPOM circuit (the left one). Feeds some external circuit of your base via battery and a transformer (the right one).
Early game, if ya got some phosphorite, drop 4 wheezworts in an insultaed room and use some radiant pipe to cool down the O2. (could also use a large water tank to sink the heat). Ice generators are very bad coolers, and take tons of dupe time. Early game you don't have a lot of choices for cooling, though.
These designs are a single electrolyzer SPOM for early use capable of outputting oxygen at around 20C. This design uses refined metal for automation and some pipes, but uses no plastic, steel, or oil of any kind. This design relies on a water input of 80C or less.
New Players: SPOMs and you. This post is mainly for those new to ONI. You will see the term SPOM very frequently around ONI discussions. It stands for Self-Powering Oxygen Module. The classic design is at this link. While other self-powering oxygen modules might be called SPOMs, this is the original SPOM. https://forums.kleientertainment.com ...
This is literally the second video in SPOM Law. Rant. Putting it decently, the SPOM platform needs a lot of work. The face detection does not always work. Video buffers even when on 5G. I completed a class but it force closed at the end and now it says I haven't done it and will have to do it again to register it as completed.
