The most iconic women's hairstyle of the 1970s is arguably the Farrah Fawcett hairstyle. Popularized in 1976, the hairstyle was heavily imitated by many American women and girls. It incorporated waves, curls, and layers. The style mostly worn with bangs, but could also be worn with a side part.
Her appearance followed Jean Bell who was featured on the magazine's January 1970 cover, though with four other models. She began her career in the late 1960s as a bank teller and hostess for the Top of the Hancock Building Restaurant.
