John Locke is a fictional character played by Terry O'Quinn on the ABC television series Lost.He is named after the English philosopher of the same name. [1] In 2007, O'Quinn won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for his portrayal of Locke.
Locke asks about his father and Emily claims that Locke doesn't have a father because he was immaculately conceived. Undeterred, Locke hires a private investigator who finds Locke's father, Anthony Cooper (Kevin Tighe). When Locke visits his father's affluent home he is welcomed with open arms.
Cooper explains to Sawyer that he is Locke's father, and that he conned Locke out of a kidney and pushed him out an eighth storey window because he was a "nuisance". Suspicious, Sawyer asks the prisoner for his name. Cooper tells him a con man has many names, and begins to list his, including Tom Sawyer.
Anthony Cooper is a ruthless con man, John Locke's biological father and the man who conned Sawyer's parents, leading to their deaths. Cooper cons Locke into donating a kidney to him before abandoning him. He later comes to make amends with Locke when he convinces Locke to help him retrieve money he owes to a couple of heavies.

Terrance Quinn (born July 15, 1952), known professionally as Terry O'Quinn, is an American actor.He is best known for his Primetime Emmy Award-winning performance of John Locke on the TV series Lost (2004–2010).
Locke plummets eight stories to the ground, but survives (shown how in a later episode). As Locke lies in a hospital bed, the two detectives inform him that his father has fled to Mexico and has now disappeared. They leave as a physiotherapist lifts Locke out of bed and places him in his wheelchair for the first time.
