Franklin County is a county on the eastern border of the U.S. state of Indiana. In the 2020 United States Census, the county population was 22,785. [1] The county seat is the town of Brookville. [2] Franklin County is part of the Cincinnati, OH–KY–IN Metropolitan Statistical Area.
The largest county is Allen (657 sq. mi., 1,702 km 2) and the smallest is Ohio (86 sq. mi., 223 km 2). [3] According to the Constitution of Indiana, no county may be created of less than 400 square miles (1,000 km 2), nor may any county smaller than this be further reduced in size, which precludes any new counties. [4]

As of the 2020 census, there were 5,728 people, 2,315 households, and 2,600 housing units.The racial makeup of the township was; 5,506 were White alone, 18 were American Indian/Alaska Native alone, 18 were Asian alone, 3 were Black/African American alone, 16 were of some other race, and 167 were two or more races. 56 were Hispanic/Latino of any race.
