UEFA Euro 1976 was the fifth edition of the UEFA European Football Championship, UEFA's football competition for national teams. [1] Thirty-two teams competed in qualifying rounds, [2] which were played on a home-and-away round-robin basis, between 1 September 1974 and 28 February 1976, [3] before the two-legged quarter-finals were held between 24 April and 22 May 1976. Any game in the final tournament that was undecided by the end of the regular 90 minutes was followed by thirty minutes of extra time (two 15-minute halves). If scores were still level after 30 minutes of extra time, there would be a penalty shootout (at least five penalties each, and more if necessary) to determine who progressed to the next round.

The UEFA Euro 1976 quarter-finals was the last round of qualifying competition for UEFA Euro 1976. It was contested by the eight group winners from the previous round of qualifying. The winners of each of four home-and-away ties qualified for the finals tournament in Yugoslavia. The matches were played on 24–25 April and 22 May 1976.
