The University for Development Studies (UDS) is a public university located in Tamale, in the Northern Region of Ghana. [4] It consistently ranks as one of the top four universities in the country. On August 27, 2020, the College of Technology Education, Kumasi and the College of Agriculture Education, Asante- Mampong were convert to formed the Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development. The name honors Mr. Akenten Appiah-Menka a Ghanaian Lawyer, Politician and Businessman. [4] [5] [6]
The main hospital in Northern Ghana is 2 km southeast of town. It cooperates with the University for Development Studies in Northern Ghana to offer undergraduate and graduate programs in medicine, nursing, and nutrition. It is the third teaching hospital in Ghana after the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. [1]
