Trang is a Vietnamese surname. It was formerly written as both 張 and 莊 in chữ Nho, a script now almost entirely obsolete. The former is derived from the Chinese surname Zhang, the latter from Zhuang. There were 1,803 bearers during the year 2000 US Census, ranking Trang 14,432nd overall and 544th among Asian and Pacific Islanders. [1]

The archives was created in 1816 as part of the Senate of Finland. [2] The present main building in Helsinki was built in 1890. [3] The present Swedish name was adopted in 1939 and the present Finnish name in 1994. It was in 1939 it also became a central government agency of its own.
